John Rathauser, PhD, is a clinical psychologist based in New Jersey with a focus on Davanloo’s Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy (ISTDP). With a career spanning over three decades, Dr. John Rathauser has dedicated his practice to providing psychotherapy for older adolescents and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, and other psychological challenges.
Dr. Rathauser has been in private practice since 1991, working extensively with individuals and couples to help them overcome psychological distress. In addition to his clinical work, he is actively involved in training and supervising therapists both nationally and internationally, offering seminars and workshops to advance the understanding and application of ISTDP. He has also presented at professional conferences and training programs.
Dr. Rathauser earned his PhD in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology and completed his undergraduate studies in psychology with a minor in English at Wittenberg University. Outside of his professional endeavors, he enjoys traveling, home audio and concerts, exercise, and caring for animals.
